The first connection always opens a browser window to sign in. If it didn’t, the tool may not have finished adding the server. Re-run the connect step for your tool, then look for a sign-in prompt. In Claude Code, run /mcp, select Deepmerge, and press Enter to trigger it again.
It shouldn’t. Deepmerge never uses an API key; you sign in through your browser. If a tool insists on a key, you’ve likely picked the wrong server type. Use the HTTP / remote MCP option and the URL https://app.deepmerge.ai/mcp.
Some tools only load a new connection after a restart. Close and reopen the tool (or start a new chat), then ask it to save something. If it still does nothing, ask it directly: “Are you connected to Deepmerge? Save a test memory.”
Connecting a tool does not create any memories on its own; your tools save memories as they work. Ask a connected tool to save its first context, then refresh your dashboard.
Custom MCP servers in ChatGPT need developer mode, available on the Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans. Turn it on under Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, then try connecting again.
